  2. the five words that i would use to describe David are inclined, flawed, snivelling, temperate, and adaptive.

the reason i would describe david as inclined is because when he does something he always sticks to his own decision and doesn't think about changing it.

the reason that i would describe david as flawed is because he is imperfect and always get anger from people that stare at him just to make him uncomfortable.

the would describe davis as snivelling because hes always crying and yapping about his problems and never thinks about a solution or how he can help other and live happier.

i would describe david as temperate is because with one little thing you say or do he will talk back and make sure that you know his rules. He is the type of guy that thinks most people taunt him and say mean thing when hes the one just going around just yelling at people but overall hes a mad person.

hes an adaptive person because as hes first day meeting sean and learning what the school was all about sean saw a change in attitude and even in friendship the only thing that holding david from changing and actually being friendly is scott and his little group.

the most obvious traits that david has would be temperate but adaptive because david has been changing ever since sean entered a classroom and pass without a late slip.but he can still have his temper because he just doesn't feel comfortable with other people seeing him and he feels as if the people that are looking at him are taunting and make fun of him around his back.

    1. I agree with you on temperate and adaptive. Temperate is obvious but adaptive, he became friends with someone who he beat up and he also adapted to Sean's personality.

    2. I agree with Aaron he does have a temper

    3. Of course it is really obvious since he always goes mad or looking for fights.

    4. you should have explained more on why all these characteristics are connected to David, instead of just giving one or two sentence justifications.

  3. Sean Characteristics
    -Athletic-
Sean is very athletic. According to this website I found (dictionary.reference.com) athletic means physically active, strong and good at sports. Sean shows the activeness and how good he is at sports on page 146 where he beats Scott in a 2v2 basketball match.
    -Kind-
Sean is very kind. Around the beginning of the book he is beat up by David yet later on he is still nice and kind to him no matter what due to the whole host thing. Also (pg 56) when David and Sean meet up with 3 girls that they never met before Sean was very kind even though it was the first time meeting with them.
    -Reliable-
Sean is very reliable in certain situations. David would have lost a bet if he did not rely on Sean in the basketball 2v2 (pg 146). David relied on Sean heavily in another situation too (pg 133) in which he got a bruise that was swollen and he would have been in trouble if Sean did not tell a lie.
    -Aggressive-
Sean is very aggressive with his temper. Something wrong happens or he gets made fun of and BAM! Instant breakout. He basically turns into another person and can not control himself. As shown in the text (pg 130) he gets called a coward and that makes Sean punch a random high schooler in the jaw.
    -Unaware-
Sean is an unaware person. He makes his choices without thinking. As he punches a random teenager in the jaw (pg 130) he did not think about the consequences. Also when he went to the dance (pg 66) he forgot about Scott going there and he did not think of what he would do to him.

In conclusion Sean is Athletic, Kind, Reliable, Aggressive, and Unaware.

  4. The character that i pick to describe five words is David. David has many personalities and character traits. I can easily figure out his domain character traits but there are ones that you have to pick up with a few sentences. The character traits that I believe that David has are he is irritable, vigorous, thoughtful, brilliant, and preposterous.

I believe that David is vigorous because in the text it mentions that David beats up David. Furthermore Sean is also strong, but David had pulverized him. Additionally, David is in a wheel chair. Another example would be he is athlete. He has great sense of how to basketball. Further more he is great at the sport even though he is in a wheel chair. An example would be Sean and David had played a game of 21. David had beta Sean. Also David and Sean had beat Scott and Greg in a 2 vs 2. David is one of the best athletes in his school.

Another word to describe David would be irritable. David can get annoyed and mad easily. For example the first day of school he got into a fight because a Sean did not give him a path to move ahead. Additionally he got into a fight with high schoolers who were mocking him. He could have talked go them but he got angry. Another example that can allow David to get annoyed is Sean had directed his wheelchair to math class.mdavid had gotten mad because he touched his wheelchair. David had yelled at Sean.

Furthermore I believe that David is thoughtful. He has helped Sean in many ways from helping him with basketball and picking up girls. David has taught Sean improvements on his basketball skills. He taught him how to do the hook shot and to not be afraid of bigger guys then him. Further more David had helped him get an A+ on his presentation. Lastly David helped Sean to get closer to a girl named Caroline. David had made them dance together and hold hands. David is a great friend to Sean.

I believe that David is brilliant. He had got an A+ for a presentation about living things regeneration. He had also included a section for nerve regeneration. He had talked about something that most kids don't even know about. To be honest I never knew your nerves can regenerate If you are paralized. He is also brilliant because he knows a lot about basketball. For example he taught Sean some skills that can improve him. David knows how to move around the court to get the ball.

In addition David is preposterous. David sometimes doesn't have common sense. Sometimes I think he actually wants to get I trouble.David has told security that Scott, Nicke , Gavin that they were smoking in the washroom. Now Scott is after him. Scott thinks that David did it. Also, David wa laughing when he told on them. He was happy. In the text when Sean was in the gym with David Scott had come. David had wanted to fight him. Is he a fool.

Inconclusion I believe that David has many character traits that describe him. David has many opposite personalities. David having many different characteristics can not be the best for his friend Sean. I believe that David will will grow out of some of these negative characteristics.

    1. I'm confused. In the second paragraph, u said Daid beats up David...but there are no other Davids in the book? How does he beat hinself up and where does "Sean is strong" come from?

    2. Maybe he means Davies beats him self not pyhiscly it mentality

    3. Oh that makes sense, and it's true too. However Sean didn't fight back because he couldn't Sean just didn't want to get into trouble.

  5. sean is brilliant and knows how to use his word on the right situation and at the right time. but he also like to be competitive in sports and in friendships.

    ReplyDelete
  6. David: brave I think one word that describes David is brave. David stands up for himself no matter what even though he is in a wheelchair. He doesn't care is people are bigger than him or smaller than him he will stand up for himself. For example when David caught the high school kids making fun of him he got really angry and fought back he didn't care that they were older than him he was just really mad at them. Plus David is in a wheelchair and still stand up for himself.

Competitive: I also think that David is very competitive. David is a big person. And from the book we know he is very good at sports. He always wants to win no matter what and always tries his hardest. For example in the book when he and Sean faced two other kids they were about to lose. But David wanted to win and told Sean different plans on what to go which gave them the victory. Even though he is in a wheelchair we know that David is very athletic, and plays really competitive.

Careless I also think that David is careless many times he doesn't care what he does and doesn't think much about what he is going to do. In the book David didn't care who was in his way he just kept going also in the book in the beginning he bumped into Sean for no reason. Another scene was when David just crossed the busy road randomly and could of got hit.

    1. There was supposed to be 5 characteristics but I do agree with you with competitive. He is mostly making bets and always trying to win win win. Also he does not really think about anything and just does it as shown in careless when he fought 2 people for only making fun of him (maybe).

      Delete
    2. Also David gets unpatient. David can get mad and annoyed really easily. He dosent like getting bossed around. For example in the beginning of the book David didn't like it that Sean was his host. David also got really unpatient and bumped into Sean Sean for no reason because he didn't move. David also dosent like it when Sean touches he wheelchair to help him out he always wants to do stuff himself.

      Delete
    3. My final word is intransitive: to give someone support or information so that they can do something more easily.
This word describes David because he has done this many times to Sean. For example in their project Sean had to explain the the class and didn't know what to do so David explained to him and helped him out to make it more easy for him. Also David has helped Sean a lot in basketball he taught his different types of shots and what to do which made him better at basketball. Also in the 2vs2 David told him how to get past someone who was bigger than him which helped Sean a lot. David hels Sean a lot when he needs it.

  7. Sean's character traits:

    - Competitive; I find Sean to be competitive because he really doesn't sound like the kind of person that doesn't like to lose or lose to others, especially in basketball. Sean definatly considers himself to be n never changed who he was. He just stayed the same. He's also consistent when it comes to basketball. He always did care about it and always will. It's just how Sean sees things.     - Temperate (When you get angry quickly); The reason why I find Sean to be temperate is because Sean is the type of guy that gets mad REALLY quick. One sudden change in words or tone and Sean is imediatly consumed by darkness, sadness, and many bitter feelings, and then once he is compleatly consumed he has a tantrum. He let's out all of his anger in one fell swoop and nothing stops him untill he's satisfied. That is what a temperative person does when he or she is upset.e school's basketball fight for his friends and even make up exxuses for them so that tthey have a way out of trouble whenever. David knows this about Sean and plays by Sean's generosity and loyalty.

    - Consistent (doesn't change how he is); Sean is very consistent with the way he behaves in or out of school ever since he started grade 8. He was and will always be easily angry and very active, over the period of 2-3 months in the inside he eam. So he would have to see everyone as an enemy in order for that to happen. So, since he values basketball that way and he did his best infront of the coach, he seems to be quite competitive.   v

-Cowardly; I think Sean is very cowardly because he always seems nervous where ever he goes. He's always questioning something, like the time they had a fight with the high school kids. He questioned himself if he should fight. If I were him, I wouldn't question it, I'd beat him up for saying that to my friend. However, it's not the case for Sean. He's also nervous when it comes to presenting or showing off what he did, like his A+ with David on a Science report or showing off to the Coach about how he plays basketball.

      - Dependable; In my opinion, Sean is a dependable person. This is because that David doesn't really have to worry much about Sean leaving him. Sean really does care for everyone. He doesn't really like to fight anyone. But when it comes down personal he really would fight for his friends and even make up exxuses for them so that tthey have a way out of trouble whenever. David knows this about Sean and plays by Sean's generosity and loyalty.

    - Consistent (doesn't change how he is); Sean is very consistent with the way he behaves in or out of school ever since he started grade 8. He was and will always be easily angry and very active, over the period of 2-3 months in the inside he never changed who he was. That is what a temperative person does when he or she is upset.

In my opinion, I think those character traits best describe Sean as a person.

  9. David

I have chosen David. And the words I have chosen for him are athletic, affectionate, hostile, intelligent, and tough. I think these words best describe David

    Athletic

Even if he is in a wheel chair he is still very good at basketball. For example when he went to Sean's house Sean was astonished by David. Then when Sean and David were up against Scott and and the other boy they were losing but then they won and Scott thought that he could beat David any time.

    affectionate

When it was lunch David and Sean past by and David ask 3 girls if they believed in love in first sight they did not hear him but he made a girl blushed. He then was sitting with them and told Sean when he was going to get the lunch he wanted to get to know the girls better. I think that was very affectionate

    hostile

When he's not being nice to the girls he can me a very mean person .he can also get made very quickly. For example in the beginning when Sean didn't move he punched Sean. That to me is very hostile.

    intelligent

David is very smart I know theses because him and Sean had gotten an A+ On nerve regeneration . But just not at school also out of school for example at the roller rink. He knew that Scott and his other 2 friends were smoking and they couldn't do that. David really didn't want them there so he got them thrown out. That was a smart move

    Tough

David is a very tough person when he plays basketball and when he gets in a fight. Like the high school kids he is in a wheel chair but he still gets in to fights. Thats why I think he's tough.

  10. DAVID

SENSITIVE- David has shown us time and time again that he is sensitive. I think he is sensitive because of the fact he is a wheelchair. Every Time David is mocked, he always looks angry and he wants to exact his revenge. Apart from his anger David has also looked hurt a few times. Like when Sean didn't believe him. Sean said that David genuinely looked hurt. this tells us that David has been a subject of neglect ever since he got stuck in the chair, which led him to become sensitive, to every little joke and just needing a spark to light a fire.

INTOLERANT- David is intolerant because he can not stand someone making fun of him. when something he doesn't prefer occurs, he usually explodes on the spot. A perfect example is the fight with the highschool kids. David believed that they were mocking him, he didn’t stop to reconsider, he just blurted out the fastest retort he had. he wasn’t about to tolerate someone making fun of him and getting away with it. In the very first chapter David also didn’t tolerate Sean not moving off the wheelchair ramp. He made a small situation like that into a big fight.

JOCULAR- David can also be playful at certain times. In scenes where David is around Sean (excluding the first one) and the grade 7 girls, David is known to be humorous make jokes and be a pleasure to be around. Examples of that are at the school dance. David was being playful and convinced Sean and the girls to start the festivities by being the first ones to dance. or at the roller rink. David was having fun with the girls, and at times Sean. Sean himself said David looked like he was having a lot of fun, despite being in a wheelchair.

CANTANKEROUS- David can be described as a tale of 2 extremes. Anger and calm. This word is describing David as being bad-tempered and argumentative. This arguably David’s most obvious characteristic. David is known to get into fights and have a short fuse. the very first scene David appeared in, was the infamous fight scene. Davids own mother claims that he has reputation of getting into fights. he was about to take it outside with Scott despite Sean giving him a way out.

MOTIVATED- Motivated may seem like an odd word to describe David, but I believe it is appropriate. David’s life goal is to get out of his wheelchair and walk again. He is going to sacrifice everything he can to reach that goal. he does a lot of research on the topic of regrowing limbs. On david and sean’s cell regeneration project, David took the lead role, and decided to do some extra work by himself, because he was such an expert on this topic. His efforts led to him getting an A on his science project. I believe David has the motivation necessary, and will do anything it takes to achieve his life goal.

In conclusion, David can be described with a lot of words but the ones that i found appropriate for him were: Sensitive, Intolerant, Jocular, Cantankerous and Motivated.

    1. he is motivated but i feel as if he doesn't really do anything about he just says that he will walk again but he never does or looks for a solution

    2. david has told sean that he is always doing research, even though some is too hard for him understand, he tries his best to understand what it means. he knows how his spine can be regenerated. there's not much else a 13 year old boy can do.

    3. Definitons:
Jocular: Fond of or characterized by joking; humorous or playful.
      Cantankerous: Bad-tempered, argumentative, and uncooperative.

      Delete
  11. Sean-

Agitated- Sean is always feeling nervous about his friends, especially when Scott come to meet David. He never wants a controversy between the two because that means that he would have to pick between the two. Obviously, he knows he would rather have pick David but Scott always makes him feel nostalgic about last year. That's why he's always agitated about his two friends.

Dependable- Sean might not always be honest. But he is someone who you can count on. He will always stick up for his friends. For example, after the fight with the two high school kids, David got a black eye and he knew that his mom is going to kill him. Even though Sean didn't see the fight as the high school kids fault, he promised to stick up for David in front of his mom.

Resentful- Sean doesn't always resent (resent- to be jealous) everyone, but there are times where he feels that way. For example, on the first few days of school, David got special treatment from a lot of the teachers, because he is physically disabled. That's what made him "envy" David a little.

Two faced- Sean tries very hard to be two people at once. In front of David, Sean acts gentle and he wants to make it look like he doesn't like Scott and the others. He wants to make it look like David is always right.
But in front of Scott, he always wants to make it look like Scott is his best friend. He wants him to think that he still has his bad boy self in him, but it's on pause because of basketball season. When really, he would much rather hang out with David, which makes me think about what excuse he might use after basketball season.

Mischievous- Sean wants to seem like he didn't do anything or he doesn't know what happened when there is a big problem. For example, after Scott, nick and Gavin got kicked out of the roller rink, the next day, Sean acted as if he didn't know anything. He acted like Scott ran him over with a bus and ditched him.

Sean can have positive character traits but he can also have negative and that's how I would describe Sean.

  13. stouthearted
    heedful
    Stalwart
    convivial
    antagonistic

Sean is stouthearted.determined to make the basketball team ready to do whatever it takes because he loves basketball and he wants everyone to now how much he cares about it.

Sean is also heedful, cautious about how he must act in order to succeed in what is important to him because he knows anymore mistakes equals disappointment from his parent and no basketball tryouts.

Sean is a stalwart it may sound bad but it isn't . He is reliable and confident towards hi friends and family especially David his closes friend so far.

Sean is very convivial to his friends he treats them with respect and never lies to them. In the text he didn't want to tell David about the roller skating because he didn't want to make him feel bad that he couldn't roller skate that shows him be friendly.

Sean is antagonistic. An example would be in chapter 12 at the basketball tryouts he played with David and verses the tall guy and Scott it shows he is competitive he is although there was a bet he still played his best and won.

  14. I’m describing David- Here are my 5 Words

blandishment flattering or pleasing statement or action used to persuade someone gently to do something

undefined without fixed limits; indefinite in form, extent, or application:

truculent eager or quick to argue or fight; aggressively defiant.

wry using or expressing dry, especially mocking, humor

impassioned filled with or showing great emotion

The first one, blandishment, is used because David has a sense of showing flattery and persuasion as his advantage to people because of the fact that he is in a wheelchair. Like the time he was late on his first day of school but still escaped the late ticket as he used, according to the text, “A smooth, buttery voice to persuade her.” David also tried to persuade Caroline and the girls that they were just acting to have a fight, and it wasn’t a real fight.

The second word, undefined, is used because David doesn’t let the fact that he’s in a wheelchair define or determine his actions. He didn’t care of the fact that he was at the dance with all his friends in a wheelchair; he just went along with it like it was no problem and he danced, like everyone else was. He also went to the roller rink to “skate” like everyone else, even if he was in a wheelchair. It was no problem for him. He played a successful game of basketball with Sean multiple times. No matter if he was in a wheelchair. He also played a part in the fight with the high school kids, even if the stereotypes of his disability might have stopped him from having a fight with them . He doesn’t let that take over the things he can do, no matter if he was or wasn’t in a wheelchair. A wheelchair can’t determine his decisions.

The third word, truculent, meaning eagerly quick to argue or fight, is an important quality we all saw on David’s first day. He had punched Sean and had got into a fight just because Sean had hesitated on getting off the ramp; and after, when Sean had tried to talk to him, he said “Want to fight again?”. Which really shows that he has a quick tendency to get angry and fight.
As Sean describes it, David had a “fire burning in his eyes’ as he was about to get angry. There were many situations where something like this happened. One can be when he noticed that the high school kids might’ve mocked him. he immediately jumped to conclusions and decided that he had to fight back. Another example could be in the recent chapter we read, in which David and Scott play a game of basketball against each other. According to the text, David had challenged him first.

The next word, wry, meaning that David has a sense of funny, sarcastic humour, is actually true because he does. An example of this can be when he met Caroline and the girls. He had said “Do you believe in love at first sight, or do you need me to roll by again?” Another example could be when he used his own wheelchair as a joke, saying that if he wore roller skates at the rink, he could blend in with everyone. He had also told Scott that he came by “helicopter” when he had asked how did he get there. And, he had told Scott that he suld be the Homelands Hyenas Mascot since he was laughed at so much. Scott has a very witty, sarcastic humour style.

The last word, impassioned, would be used because when David told Sean that he had done the extra part of work for their science project, because he was very impassioned about nerves and cell regeneration because he needed that to happen to him in order for his legs to function again. He had told Sean that he had acquired every single piece of information he can that related to cell regeneration and spines and vertebrae so he knew exactly what had happened to him, and how he could get his legs fixed with new advancing technology from the future; no matter how confusing it was, even if Sean wouldn’t believe him.

  15. DAVID
•Pugnacious-This word means when you are eager to get in a fight, argument or quarrel. I think this word suits David well because he is always eager to get in a fight with someone. For example, in page 132 when Sean asked David how many fights he has been in, he replied saying that he couldn't keep count. This tells me that he has been a part of plenty fights and he enjoys it.
•Inquisitive-This word means when you are willing to learn more. This word well describes David because in page 95 David mentioned that he likes to learn more about the things he goes through. This part told me that David is curious about learning more about what he goes through.
•Willful-This word means to have the desire to do something. This word suits David because in page 96 he stated that he will be able to walk again and he won't need the wheelchair anymore. He said it with full confidence. He also had a desire to get out of the wheelchair and walk again.
•Merry-This means when you are a person who is funny and happy. In the text when David went to that dance he was fun and happy. He was dancing and chatting with Sean and the girls merrily.
•Active-This means when you have the energy to do many things. In the book, David was energetic and active because even though he's in a wheelchair he played a game of basketball with his best friend Sean against Scott and the most aggressive player, Greg. They were first losing but later on they beat them.

  17. Not done but this is what I have so far......

The 5 words that describe David are:

virtuoso- a person highly skilled in
    music or another artistic pursuit.

    brilliant- exceptionally clever or talented.

    cantankerous- bad-tempered, argumentative, and uncooperative.

vigorous- strong, healthy, and full of energy.

charismatic- exercising a compelling charm that inspires devotion in others

He is virtuoso because in the book when Sean and David had a science work to do and he drew the illustrations all about the limbs and how the reptiles grow their tails back."some illustrations, beautiful illustrations, had Ben added by David.

He is cantankerous because he loses his temper very quickly and with that he starts a fight and can't even keep a track I how many fights he had done. "What are you two baboons looking at", he started that because he thought that the two high schoolers were mocking home being in a wheel chair and talking about him.

He is vigorous because he likes to play basketball and enjoys doing that. He has a good interest in playing basketball. " a game of two on two" he then had a time out and explained what to do to Sean " I am going to take the ball to the top is the key, feed it to you l, and you feed it back fast. I want you to deprecate you from Greg. If Scott switches off, you can beat him to the hoop".

He is charismatic because when Sean and David were at lunch they saw 3 girls David said that "hi, girls. Do you believe in love at first sight... or do you want to me to roll by again?"

I HAVE ONE MORE TO DO.....

  18. David
    Knowledgeable
In chapter 11 David shows his intelligence about nerve regeneration, he talks about how our bodies are always repairing itself like new skin, growing hair , and nails. He also talks about how our bodies can repair a broken bone. He also talks about some interesting facts as well like our outer layer of skin falls of Ian's is replaced every two weeks and also humans have a lot of body parts that can't be replaced. He then goes on about how humans can grow a body part in the future for example if a guys heart is not working , the doctor takes a sample of the heart and grows him a new one.
All of this was said by David and shows how knowledgeable he actually is!

    Confident
David shows how confident he is when he wants to get out of the wheelchair. In the book David says " I'll stand up and my legs will work again and I'll be able to do everything that everybody else can do. Instead of just watching you (Sean) play basketball, you and I can be on the team playing together." This just shows how much he wants to get out of that wheelchair and how confident he is that he is going to do it.

    Athletic
David shows that he is athletic all over the book, in chapter 12 he plays a basketball game with Scott , Greg, and Sean. The teams were David and Sean vs Scott and Greg. Although David is on a wheel chair he still manages to play the game and be athletic. David always shows his love for basketball as well , he has the Jordan's and always talks about it. He even tries to help Sean get better for example in chapter 5 David goes to Sean's house and and teaches him about hook shots and where too take them in the court. David is always being athletic while playing basketball which is why I chose this trait for him.

    Temperative
David really showed his temper during the "sidewalk fight" when he saw those two high school kids making hand gestures while walking down the side walk. David immediately felt offended and started becoming hostile towards theses two kids who were just minding there own business. Personally I feel that David was in the wrong in that fight because maybe those high schoolers were just talking and also using there hands to talk as well. Another scenario where David had a temper is when in the first chapter Sean mistakenly bumped into David and he threw a huge fit about , ya this did cause David and Sean to become friends but he still had a temper.

    Humorous
David doesn't always make jokes but when he does , it is the most cringeworthy thing ever for example when David was at the roller rink with a wheel chair he said " as long as I am wearing my skates maybe nobody will notice my chair." This is just one example of how embarrassing some of David's jokes are. This also shows how "humorous" David is :)

  19. I think 5 words to best describe David are sensitive, aggressive, courage, careless, faithful
My first word was sensitive because in one of the chapters we read it was based on a fight between David and 2 high school kids David seen them making specific hand gestures that got him mad because he thought those high school kids were making fun of him. I think that David got made fun in his life before that's why he got a bit too sensitive when he seen those 2 high school kids make those hand gestures. My second word was aggressive I chose this word because David can be aggressive at some points like the fight he had between the 2 high school kids. He did not give the 2 high school kids a chance to explain themselves David just jumped into conclusion and started blaming them and saying unkind words that could get the 2 high school kids mad. David kept on going until he felt like he was done saying what he wanted to say. By David jumping into conclusion and start saying all those unkind words made those 2 high school kids get mad especially the one that wanted to fight David. David should have heard there part of the story rather than jumping into conclusion and thinking he was right and the 2 high school kids were wrong.

My third word I chose was courage even though David should have not attack the 2 high school kids like that it toke a lot of courage for David to do that some people would be shy to go up to 2 high school kids and attack them like that .David could have backed out and not stick up for himself like that but instead since he believed in himself that he can do it
He went and did it but not In a very nice way . What David did almost created a bigger problem if the high school kid that did not want to fight David did not pulled the other one back that want was about to fight David then by now David might be in the hospital and he might even have to stay in the wheel Chair for a more longer time and if David's dream was to get out of the wheel chair and be able to walk to again may be very unlikely because David already has problems with his body and his health is not so good and if that high school kid were to beat David up then something worse might even happen to David because people in wheel chairs that can't walk can't really beat up someone who's not in a wheel chair and can walk. My fourth word was careless because if David really cared about his life and if he wanted to be able to walk again he wouldn't continue smoking and do stuff he knows will not help him to walk again. My 5th word was faithful even though David is still in a wheel chair he still tried to do stuff he wanted to do he didn't let the wheel chair problem bother the things he wanted to do it life and for him to do the stuff he wanted to do he needed faith and confidence that he can do it.

  20. The 5 words that I would use to describe Sean is aggressive, athletic, loyal, troublesome, and kind.

Aggressive: Sean is aggressive because he gets into fights, like the on with the high school kids when one of them called him an coward and he punched the high school right in the face and after that David and Sean got into a fight with the high school kids.

Athletic: Sean athletic because he plays sports and his favourite one is basketball. In chapter 12 Sean and David were playing 2vs2 against Scott and Greg, and they were losing but since David had good angles to give the ball and Sean a good athletic person, Sean and David won.

Loyal: Sean is loyal because he never lies to David, he is trustworthy, he sticks up for David if he is in any trouble and Sean doesn't hang around bad and stupid kids like Scott and his gang that smoke and drink when they are only in grade 8.

Troublesome: yes Sean can sometimes get in trouble, like in the beginning he got into a fight with David and in grade 7 he used to get a lot in trouble cause he hang with the wrong people but he should had picked his friend carefully, but still he still a troublesome getting in fight sometimes.

Kind: Sean is very kind to David, he doesn't treat him like other people, he treats him like a good friend, and mostly he doesn't get David in trouble at all, also for the past few months in grade 8 Sean was very kind to people and grade 7's.

Sean is aggressive, athletic, loyal, troublesome, and kind.

  21. Sean-

Agitated- feeling or appearing troubled or nervous.

Sean is always feeling nervous about his friends, especially when Scott come to meet David. He never wants a controversy between the two because that means that he would have to pick between the two. Obviously, he knows he would rather have pick David but Scott always makes him feel nostalgic about last year. That's why he's always agitated about his two friends.

    Dependable- trustworthy and reliable.

Sean might not always be honest. But he is someone who you can count on. He will always stick up for his friends. For example, after the fight with the two high school kids, David got a black eye and he knew that his mom is going to kill him. Even though Sean didn't see the fight as the high school kids fault, he promised to stick up for David in front of his mom.

Resentful-feeling or expressing bitterness or indignation at having been treated unfairly.

Sean doesn't always resent (resent- to be jealous) everyone, but there are times where he feels that way. For example, on the first few days of school, David got special treatment from a lot of the teachers, because he is physically disabled. That's what made him "envy" David a little.

    Two faced- insincere and deceitful.

Sean tries very hard to be two people at once.

Mischievous-causing or showing a fondness for causing trouble in a playful way.

Sean wants to seem like he didn't do anything or he doesn't know what happened when there is a big problem. For example, after Scott, nick and Gavin got kicked out of the roller rink, the next day, Sean acted as if he didn't know anything. He acted like Scott ran him over with a bus and ditched him.

Sean can have positive character traits but he can also have negative and that's how I would describe Sean.

  24. David

    Temerarious
    Ruthless
    Dauntless
    Vying
    Prolific

David is a temerarious person because he gets agitated easily. He doesn’t try to avoid fights, sometimes he starts them. Like when Sean was on the wheelchair ramp, he didn’t ask him to get off without being bitter and resentful towards him even though it was his first day and he didn’t know who Sean really was. Later in the hallway Sean told him to wait up and he asked him if he wanted to go again. He was aggressive with the way people treated him about his wheelchair as well. When he assumed the high school kids were discriminating him because he was in a wheelchair, he practically screamed at them and asked them why they were making fun of him. I would be as aggressive as him if I were in his situation but I would cool it a bit. I think he goes overboard with his anger and he also gets mad when people comment or make jokes about his physical appearance like when Sean’s dad made a comment about his legs, the fire in his eyes were visible.

  25. Another characteristic he has is that he is ruthless. David is always up for an adventure even if fun means consequences. That day at the roller rink, he turned Scott and his buddies in for smoking in the bathroom, and somehow, we all knew that he was going to find out sooner or later who turned him in. When Scott found out it was him, David didn’t really care, he liked taking risks no matter how catastrophic things would get. Like getting into fights with people. He did crazy things, taking risks, stuff that would get him in trouble just for the fun of it.

  26. David has a very artistic bone in his body which is why I think he’s prolific, he enjoys drawing a lot. According to Sean, his drawings on Mrs. Burk and Caroline were amazing, if they came to life you wouldn’t know who was real and who wasn’t. Also his illustrations on cell regeneration were very cool as well. He could relate to them more because he thinks if his cells in his legs regenerated he would be capable of walking again and many artists paint or draw something that they could relate to.

  27. I also think David is vying because he doesn’t like to lose. He likes to compete with people and he will try to win no matter what comes in his way… even Scott. Scott is hubristic, he thinks he can beat anyone in anything. Let’s say he thinks he’s everything and David is also competitive… before the basketball game of 2 on 2 started, David said if he lost to Scott, he would pay for his lunch three weeks in a row, but he wasn’t going to do that because who said he was losing? He wouldn’t back down for anyone, it was Scott he was facing, his arch nemesis, how would he think he looked if he lost to him? He doesn’t want to be a loser, he tries to prove people wrong when he wins because he does win a lot. People tend to look at him as the kid in the wheelchair but that’s not it, he wants to rub it in your face that he’s just as good as anyone else with workable legs. In the game of 21 with Sean, Sean thinks he’ll win easily because David is in a wheelchair, but David works hard to be the good, he doesn’t want to be good, he wants to be better which is why he won.

  28. Dauntless is another word to describe him as well. After everything he’s been through, he’s still strong. Not a lot of people our age is in wheelchairs so we don’t know how he feels. But he’s still himself, trying to show his true colors, and staying as the David he was before. How many kids do you see do something they use to enjoy doing when a tragic accident happens unexpectedly changes your whole entire life? When you find out you don’t have the ability to walk anymore? Those kids end up depressed and stop fighting for themselves. David liked to play basketball so he continued to do what he desired to do. He didn’t give up on himself because he stilled that he would be able to walk again because miracles happen sometimes. If I couldn’t walk anymore, I would flip out, I like to skate, but I’d question myself if I would be able to skate again, my whole life will be turned upside down. But David wants to prove people wrong, that he didn’t change and he was the same person he always was which is brave because I don’t think I would ever have the guts to be the same.
