Hey team check out this link to a series of tutorials on using IMovie to make movies. They show tons of tricks to make authentic effects and make a movie come to life!
We are definitely making a Historical Drama on the Underground Railway
but also want to maximize our skills and create a bunch of short films and clips. We are in charge of the December character trait assembly and this will be a great opportunity to show off some improved movie making skills

What's the character trait for December?

DeleteI loved how they used the one app(Filmic Pro) and made it look slightly like a sunset but not too overwhelming for the theme.
ReplyDeleteI agree! The effects is definitely a plus point, it brings out the realisim of the scene.

DeleteGood question.. Maybe we can make it a video of recess at our school with the younger kids and even intermediates just talking and walking, but when you think kind and caring everyone just arranges the same idea; people sharing, acting so nice that sometimes you can tell that it's fake, and we wanna make it look real and unique.

I agree with your reasonings and your right.People arrange the idea of the kindness and caring as being nice to others,good judge of character,cheery,and a outgoing person,also as someone whos caring.Because that is what there minds have been portrayed with.We need to give them a visual feeling and impact of what it really means.Forsay your right we do need to make it unique.After all we are #EIGHTYBEE :).
DeleteI like how he used movie looks to change the film color. The tripods are also great to use, it'll be so much easier to film with those.
ReplyDeleteYes, there would be less shaking. This is what makes a movie look real. The way we avoid shaking, is there any way we can avoid backgroundnoises if we were to input no other sound in the background? It's annoying when you can hear the wind behind you or some uneccesary noise. Maybe something that can make the voice louder than the wind in the background?
DeleteBut still I asked Mr.Chney if Ipods could fit in it he saisd that it wont so we might have to put rubber bands around the ipod to be as thick as the Iphone
DeleteAre you sure about that? Because im pretty sure there should be something to losen and tighten it , if there isnt then i guess the rubber band is good.
Delete@Aniqer i don't really know any effects for backround noises :$ In real movies they always have a guy holding a mic close to the actors, but not in the shot. So i don't know how we could do that in iMovie.
Delete@Nauman as long as the rubber bands are not in the camera shot, we should be good.
Not damaging the otem, we can put sticky tack around it.
Deletegreat idea of the sticky tacks but they woudn't last for a long time. rubber bands are easy to tie the ipod of the tripod because it woudn't break too often if we use a strong rubber band.
DeleteAll we need is something to make the ipod more thicker to fit the tripod
Delete@Aniquer But you won't hear the backround noises because of the trailer's theme's music. UNLESS you're talking about a movie, but I'm sure that can be arranged resembling to what Mathew Pearce said about the 2; sound effects and music playing. Maybe we can use it to cover the nonessential noises as well.

Delete@Sana Mr.Cheney did ssy they would arrive in time for our next movie/trailer.So were probably getting them sometime soon,and I recall him mentioning how the tripods would work for both ipod/iphones Ithink,im not sure but still will figure something out.
DeleteI like these apps but I am still not clear on DEMON CAM because he never showed a clip about demon cam. I thought demons would pop out of the corners on to the victim in the middle but I think they only show the shadows of the demons but i might be wrong
ReplyDeleteYeah, he just showed the basics like the app name and how to use it in the beggining. If Mr. Cheney has that app also, we can check it out. It sounds like it'll be in use alot with our filming.

DeleteThey only showed a bit of the demon cam. All it demonstrated was the way the outlined the mouth and the eyes. Maybe it can help brithen those to make the face look difffrent? I'll go check it out on youtube.
DeleteOh so that was how they used DEMON CAM. So it bascally just transforms the victims face into a demon form
DeleteALRIGHT, like I said before, this is called "demon cam". So apparently, you just take a video of your choice. Once your done with it, you can pick a frame where you can transform your face into something horrofic. You can choose the demon face you want and they will insert the transformation and create your face into a demon's.

Delete@Nauman: all the scenes doesn't have to include the railway. We could also show the history behind the railway. We could show who started it and the reason behind it.

ReplyDeleteSome of these tips and videos are really good! Something I have noticed,is the way we are to use several apps or programs rather than JUST imovie. In the several other videos I saw a tip about slow motion in imovie. There is this other app called slopro. This app takes a video and makes it in slow motion. It can create the effect of where a person is running in such slow motion.

Deletethings i thought that were cool was that thing to hold your ipod i think it can make the movie better since the ipod wont be shaking also i like that demon cam i thought that was really cool we could use it if we were doing a zombie trailer or movie. some ideas i thought about durning the video was maybe we can shoot people being nice to eachother and playing games all from the above so you can have a overview of them and if we have that thing the holds the ipod it will be good so the video doesnt shake i was thinking the place were michael jumped off from the trailer.

DeleteI was thinking perhaps in one trailer we can have zombies being all mean then a set of humans trying to teach the zombies to be kind and caring. What do you think? :D
it sounds good but i think it will be to hard to do because all the zombie make up and all that.
DeleteThat's not bad at all! I can see the creativity already! We can add a bunch of different scenes with a variety of kindness and caring into one trailer no matter the scene.
Delete@Aynur that would be cool portraying the trailer with different potentials.Its not ordinary,but unique as Fatma said shows creativity.Its something different and has passaze,way to go.
DeleteI liked the tri-pod because then the camra won't be shaking as much as it would if the tri-pod wasen't there.I also like how I think in the iMovie app you can chose your backround setting (sunset etc.).

DeleteWe can use this by say we need a backround setting of sunset but the sky is clear we can use the sunset setting nd the tri-pod will make it easier to carry the iPod around while while were filming.

DeleteHow about we do something along the lines of 'Vengence' where a guy and his best friend go out to hunt a monster that has been ravaging the school. They eventually meet people, go through betrayals, and learn about the monster, 'Kira' as the students call it. Kira is japanese for 'Killer'. They call it that because it looks like something from an anime show. Anyway, the guy and his friend eventually find out that the beast is a former WW2 prisoner who made a deal with the Devil in order to become a huge invincible beast whenever he wants in exchange for being unable to swim. In the end the two guys are successful, but at the cost of the best friend's life, as well as a lot of townspeople.

DeleteI want to have good blood effects for when the best friend gets eaten and a cool scythe for the monster hunter. The MH will be called Joss Valentine and the best friend will be called Harry Walker.
mkaaayyy, its biblical because he has made a deal with the devil, its WW2 because the monster demon guy was in WW2, its anime because his name is japanese...and knowing you the syth was ment to be waayyy to big, its school cus they were attending school, and it drama because it probably has dramatic shots.... oh and monsterhunter the game is anime.
DeleteNo, just cuz' the Devil is mentioned doesn't mean it's biblical. Ghost Rider, Spirit of Vengence mentioned the Devil but it wasn't biblical.

I clicked on the link and saw a tutorial on how to clone on Imovie it's really cool it would be awesome if we could use it!

DeleteWe could use multiple apps for a movie to make it look like we know what were doing and show people what 80B is all about.My favorite one is the one that make the action shot more realistic and so it doesent move to much.

DeleteI like all th apps. They're useful in every way. The Demon Cam is something I don't understand, first of all I never even saw the demon, I thought the guys face was supposed to have some kind of demon like face or something, second of all how can we use it our trailers for the underground railway. I think that the Iphone cage is cool, sometimes while shooting a scene, the Iphone tends to slip out of your hands. If anyone saw those Youtube videos, those movie effects where they have a shooting scene is actually kinda cool. And that cloning effect was cool, it even invovles a green screen, but the one I like the most was the one where they had the mouse using its usb to type stuff, that was pretty cool!

DeleteI also liked the idea of the iphone cage.Often when we film our ipods/iphones tend to slip.Our camera work is pretty shakey at times whatsoever.Although having tripods/ipod cages would increase the stablility and quality of our shots.It would at the professional side to our films/trailers its like a must have.Though it is also good for the camera work :)

ReplyDeleteI liked how we're able to contrast between th e colors and brightness in the first video.So when we film it doesn't always have to be dull and boring.It lightens up the tone and creativity of the film.It also adds more interest and professionalism throughout the shots and footages.Its great so we can show-off our inner potentials and skills.Forsay we don't always have to have the plain and boring complexion of a film.We could give it more contrast and everything to make it more vivient and bold.
ReplyDeleteI think the special effects is a great idea for making clips. I especially recommend the more magical effects because that's where you'll receive more ooohs and aaahs from the crowd.I also think the stop motion effect is great to use for short scenes. Another function I find usefull, is colour correction for changing the contrast, saturation and brightness.
