    1. do you really think he is independent we is always with the girls he is practically never alone. and when they were at the store he made sean open the door.

      Delete
    2. If someone stays with a group of people are they not independent. Almost everybody hangs out with their friends everyday so would we not call them independent just because of that. Also you are independent to the most of your capability if you are not able to do something and you ask for help it doesn't mean you are not independent unless you are able to do something but just don't want to do it.

      Delete
    3. *comment above is for devesh....

      Delete
    4. ya but also wanting no one to hold your wheel chair does not indicate that you are independent either. its just that he does not want anyone pitying him. also it seems even in class he is always talking to sean is he not if i remember in the recent chapter sean was called out for talking to david. and remember this was during class or when it was starting also it looks like David enjoys group work.

    5. Independent just means wanting to do things on your own and not relying on anyone. I think David is independent since "most" of the time he doesn't need anyone holding his wheelchair and it would feel like you're dependent or relying on someone. Another example that he barely took Sean's help when completing the assignment and took the entire responsibility to himself and actually did "independent work".

      Delete
    6. but the reason we was working alone is is not because he wanted to work alone but it was personal to him in many ways.

      Delete
    7. Well would how can you not consider that as "independent" work even if it was personal to him? He eventually told Sean everything later on too right? So if he wanted he could've worked together and divided the work but he CHOSE to be independent in that case.

      Delete
    8. I agree with fiza, David was independent because he didn't rely on others. He didn't like it when other pushed his wheelchair. This indicates to saying that he likes to do things on his own and doesn't need others to do things for himself

  10. David= brave, smart, bad temper, tough, and scary because if you mess with him he wont hesitate to fight no matter how old you are

    2. ''bad temper'' is not one word the question says we have to use 5 WORDS

      Delete
    3. hey Devesh just because he is in a wheel chair does not mean he is not scary

      Delete
    4. but he is a nice guy and to everyone in the book david is not scary no one is scared of him. everyone is scared of scott but that's another story. but do you get what im trying to say he is not scary no one is scared of him in the book!

      Delete
    5. wouldn't kids not want to talk to him considring the fact that he is scary

      Delete
    6. but he is not! its just that one day the fight happend and no one is going to think he is scary not only he covered it up by saying he was faking it.

      Delete
    7. "Scary" is usually based on someone/something's appearance. Where as none of us have seen David's appearance so you can't determine he's scary. He's perfectly normal like us. I think you should replace the word scary or provide a solid example of why you think he's scary.

      Delete
    8. how and why is david scary? he just doesnt tolerate stupidity.

      Delete
    9. he is not scary but he is the type of guy not to mess i get he is not scary scratch that he is fearless

      Delete
    10. Fearless would definitely be a better choice.

      Delete
    11. Hamza that doesn't means he's scary
That just means he has anger management

      Delete
    12. Scary is not a good choice a word i think as fiza said fearless is a better choice

  14. I think that 5 words which describe David are:

    1. Yahoo, I chose this word because it means rude, noisy and violent. I think that this word is right because David has done a lot of violent things such as fighting with Sean and arguing with the highschoolers he was also very noisy and rude because in the middle of the street he was shouting at the 2 kids he thought were mocking him. This was rude because it didn't just annoy the 2 kids but his shouting must have also hurt the other peoples ears as well, i think that this was very rude. In most of the book David is usually noisy and he does things such as yelling across the hall to call out for Sean like when he did at the skating rink, and also when he yelled at the highschoolers

    2. Discombobulate, the meaning is to disconcert or confuse someone. The meaning did not help me that much so I looked at examples from online an this is what i got "this attitude totally discombobulated Bruce"
This basically means that someone changes their attitude which confused Bruce. An example from the book is that David is usually yahoo most of the time and when Seans sisters asked David annoying questions Sean thought that David would get mad but David discombobulated him by actually being nice to Seans sister evern though his sisters were being annoying. Surprisingly David answered their questions. David just confused Sean because of his attitude which is confusing or in better words discombobulating.

    3. Facetious, i think that this word will apply for David because this means that the person takes serious matters as a joke. An example of David doing this is when him and Sean got into a fight. Sean took it as a big deal and was scared David would get angry at him because of the fight but to his surprise David just joked around about the fight and started making jokes about it and did not even take the fight seriously, instead he considered it to be a joke.

    4. Artistic because as w know David has one a lot of artistic things such Drawing portraits of the girls and even drawing a beautiful drawing in his project which proved beneficial and increased his and Seans marks.

5.Autonomous, I chose this word because this word means independent and David is actually very independent even though he is in a wheelchair. For example he wants to roll his wheelchair by himself and doesn't want anybody else pushing it, and he decided to work on most of the project himself independently so I think that Autonomous is the right word.

  15. David is:
    Contentious
    Obdurate
    Independent
    Aggressive
    Confident

    1. how is David independent he stay with Sean and he hangs out with the grade 7 girls a person that is independent does not communicate with anyone

      Delete
    2. How can you say someone who does not communicate with anyone is "independent"? Independent mean to not rely on anyone and be able to do things yourself with your own self power. "Most" of the time he doesn't need anyone holding his wheelchair, walking him around like a two year old. He completed the entire assignment himself and took responsibility and that's what's called "independent work". Hanging out with people and not communicating means not having a social life or being overly shy, that doesn't affect on him being independent or not.

      Delete
    3. would david be more self reliant or independent? i understand what you said to manjot h. about independence but which would be a better way to describe him?

      Delete
    4. I think he'd be more of independent since he also doesn't get easily influenced by other's perspectives and goes with what he thinks. He is self reliant as well but in My opinion independent would be a better word to describe him.

      Delete
    5. i agree with manjot i don't think that independence describes David as much so self reliant will

      Delete
    6. Well reflecting back on the quote, its the perspectives right? Maybe you guys are right in your way and I think i'm right in my way and points I think support it right.
