  1. I had picked Justin Bieber Never Say Never because this song is about never giving up. The way the song was written was outstanding. In every line there was a secret message. When he said pick it up 3 times it means to never stand down always stand back up. The music video of this song was related to a movie called "Karate Kid". This movie was a boy learns to fight because he wanted to fight the bullies that always picked on him. Furthermore this song indicated that you can't let anyone put you down.

The whole song was for us to know we should never give up. This song gives us hope for us to do better. when he say "i never thought that i could this power , I never thought that i can be free." This clearly indicated that the message was going towards victims of bullies. He is saying after you stand up to them you will feel much better. Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith have a rap part. Jaden Smith raps about how people that are bigger than him and taller than him and he says it doesn't matter they are still smaller than me. Furthermore he says he has the hand in his world because he feels strong and confident about himself.

This song was from a movie. The song perfectly describes the movie. Jaden Smith acts the boy. He moves to China and he always gets beaten up. He wants to fight them but they know karate and he doesn’t. He wants to learn karate to beat them up. He learns it for the wrong reason. His master has taught him to use karate for peace. He then learns his way. HIs training was very severe. Furthermore he would always get chased after from school. The bullies hated him soo much. He had practiced very hard for his tournament against them. He never gave up.

In conclusion this song does have a message. This song was for victims of bullying. They wanted them to not feel that they can’t do anything. This song had a movie behind it to prove the point. The song had a strong message. The song gave people hope.

    1) One music video that i think has really important morals is Drake’s headlines music video. This video came out in 2011. Drake released this music video as a part of his Take Care album. In my opinion this music video has many important lessons that everyone can learn from.

At the start of the song Drizzy mentions that he’s overdosed in confidence, and stops fearing the consequences. He implies that it’s like a drug being on top and having so many fans. He’s started living a more reckless lifestyle as a result of his carelessness. He’s trying to say that people shouldn’t follow his footsteps, and live a balanced life, it’s okay to drink or go out once in awhile, but when you’re floating in and out of consciousness, you have to know something is definitely wrong.

Before this album came out many people were telling Drake he fell off, represented by the lyric “I had someone tell me I fell off, ooh I needed that.” He trying to say that that his criticizers made him better instead of worse. Drake is only encouraged by the haters. This can be a lesson to everyone, that you should use your haters as fuel, to accomplish greater things, and go to better places.

Another lesson from this song is represented through this lyric “ ‘cause one of us goes in and we all go through it”. The message from this verse is, you should stick with your friends or group through thick or thin. You shouldn’t just abandon loyal friends or partners, to pursue more economic opportunities.

The last lesson from this song is told through this lyric “ I’m like why I gotta be all that, but still I can’t deny the fact that it’s true.” The message from this lyric is that the expectations of you, are usually right, and you should be aware of them at all times, and try to fulfill them.

Although the title of this song is never mentioned in the actual song, Drake is trying to say that he is aware of the success he’s achieved, and when he does something it’s worthy of big news, a headline.

The song I picked is probably "really" old. It came out in 2011, but it’s actually very inspirational. The song is called Skyscraper, by Demi Lovato. This song is about a broken girl who isn't going to consider her losses and she is going to take on the world. It is inspirational because it tells you that no matter how much somebody or something tries to break you and put you in the dark, you should get up and move on. You shouldn't feel hurt because you can get up again and again and again.

The chorus is especially the thing you need to pay attention to because it has power. It says no matter how much you try to crumble me into pieces, I will always stay as a whole.

    Chorus:

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
    Like I'm made of glass
    Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
    Like a skyscraper
    Like a skyscraper

The song says that even at the worst point of your life, no matter how much you have been hurt, you should not shatter into pieces. The song could also be connected to Demi Lovato´s, (the singer) past. When she was little in school, she was bullied because she wasn´t pretty enough, or skinny enough, and so she stopped eating, she started cutting herself and she ẃas completely alone. She didn´t tell anybody about her problems and so she became a shadow. Eventually she got over her problems and so this song could be dedicated to her issues as a child. She wants to tell everybody that you don´t have to be afraid and you should have the courage to face your fears, your horrible moments, and every time you fall down.

  6. The song that I think that has social message is the song 'Fight Song' by Rachel Plattern https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=e8qDOGLCSFo

    1. I think this song is inspirational/ strong social message because it talks about her going throughout struggle but showing who she is and how she won't give up on her dreams. People would talk rude stuff about her and she didn't care and it didn't stop her from believing in herself and doing whatever she can to reach her goals, she also has a lot of fight left in her to show others that she is strong person even with a lot of judgments going on.

    Chorus

' this is my fight song,
    take back my life song
    prove I'm alright song,
    my powers turned on,
starting right now I'll be strong,
    I'll play my right song
I don't care if anybody else believes cause I've still got a fight left in me'.

This chorus means that she is going to fight no matter what and not going to give up, and will fight until she has concurred her dreams and show others that she is strong. She is going to prove others that she is good and how she can be very strong and doesn't care what others say about her but to look ahead of her.

  7. I believe that songs should have an obligation and a message. These songs should have a message because people look up to these singers as inspiration. Many young kids can learn real life morals and acts. These days only some songs give a messages to people. Furthermore, if singers would give a positive message to their audience many people's way of thinking might change. In addition, if singers would give positive act in society that would prove what they are saying is true.

Young kids can learn a lot from singers. These singers have many followers that will follow them. Maybe these singer can put shame to those who do bad stuff. Maybe they might change their ways because they are too embarrassed. These songs can aware of world problems that people don’t know about. If many singers were make a song about homelessness many people would change their views about homelessness. Young kids are gullible. They believe what everyone says. If there is a positive message going on they can be influenced by the message.

People minds can easily change. The music industry is huge. Many people are connected with it. Everyone knows music. If the singer were to change people's minds they would have more followers, eventually everyone would agree on the positive message. Singers are a big part of most teenagers lives. If there is a new trend going on many people would do it. For example Drake latest song is Hotline Bling this song had made millions of dollars due to its dance. That trend was going on for a long time. Maybe if the singer comes of with a fashionable way to create a message it would stick for a long time.

If singers would demonstrate that they actually care the world can change. If their song was about homeless and go out into their cities and give things to the homeless people would know that they actually care. If many positive acts were to come everyone would start doing it. If singer do the right thing many lives would change.

In conclusion, if singers were to give a positive message and an act on their songs they world will change. Many people in this world are agaisnt negative things, but they might do anything because they might not feel safe. The songs give them courage and bravery.

  8. most songs these day usually don't have inspiration noir have any changes that can make a better person but i'm not saying that there's barely any songs with inspirations to a person but most songs these days are more about ,love ,money ,woman and being famous but the last time that I actually heard a song with someone telling you it was time to make a change was in tupac's song changes. i've picked ´the weeknd ft ed sheeran Dark time.this song explains the person's feeling and the problems that this singers have but at the same time with others problem we also think about their and our perspective. But with these different perspective you aslo connect with simual problems and see what you can change in life .I truly don't have problems to fix and i actually like the song but i can see some one connecting their life story or their problems to this song.

Here are a few lines from the actual song.

    [The Weeknd:]
In my dark times, I'll be going back to these streets
Promising everything I do not mean
In my dark times, baby this is all I could be
Only my mother could love me for me
In my dark times, in my dark times

    [Ed Sheeran & The Weeknd:]
In my dark times I've still got some problems I know
Driving too fast but just moving too slow
And I've got something I've been trying to let go of
    Pulling me back every time

when people have problems they would probably listen to this and see what they can change to make them happier and i'm also not say the the weeknd's song has a problem i love his songs but what i'm saying is this is a song that can have many ways to cheer others up.
song should have the right and respect to show any sort of emotion because it's a song and people will listen to it and people will see it have a positive or a negative.people have different opinion but my opinion is that songs should just say what's in their mind because music is a different way to express and show you feeling and emotions.

I had few songs in the past that inspire be but at this point i don't have song that can inspire me cuz i'm happy with what i have and how i live so at this point in time i don't have a song that is inspiring.

  9. Here is the link for the video of Jet Black Heart! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0X7u_mmREE

    1) The song that I chose was Jet Black Heart by 5 Seconds of Summer. I picked this song because it is personally one of my favourite songs and the lyrics are something you can connect to. *Everybody’s got their demons, even wide awake or dreaming, I’m the one who ends up leaving, make it okay* I like this part of the song because it proves that everyone has difficulties in their lives and you don’t know what everyone is going through and everyday, they are living a nightmare. Some people fall apart when they can’t be saved and the part where it says *make it okay* means to deal with what will happen in the future. *See a war I wanna fight it, see a match I wanna fight it, every fire I’ve ignited, faded to grey* ; for this part of the song it is talking about how no matter people try to stand up they end up crumbling because they’re already so broken that they can’t do anything about it.

This world is full of empty promises, broken hearts and dreams that are destroyed. It isn’t surprising that so many people nowadays have mental disabilities like anxiety, depression because of the unhealthy atmosphere around them . I also chose this song because the lyrics are straight from the artist’s heart because Michael and Ashton from 5SOS have also suffered from depression so they understand what it feels like to be isolated and hopeless. * The blood in my veins is made up of mistakes, let’s forget who we are and dive into the dark, as we burst into color returning to life* - that part is the bridge of the song and it means that no matter how far you are down your own living hell you can become who you used to be if you try. The music video is also something I find extremely motivational because the people in the video aren’t actors but actually fans. There are all sorts of people from around the world in the video and I think that the message is that if you are struggling, you aren’t the only one.

  10. 2) Yes ,I believe that all songs should have a positive message behind it for the listeners because today, all the songs that are being written are actually garbage and make no sense. They’re about money, love, smoking and other inappropriate topics which I think should be forbidden because kids these days are growing up fast and understand the meaning of these songs because their older siblings listen to them. What’s the point in making music when you only write about the same topics, over and over again?

I’m not saying that songs about love are entirely dreadful , some songs are breathtaking but come on, change it up a bit, be different . If your message in your song is oh I’m so rich i’m going to blow all my money, well no one cares. I think artists should write songs that young teens can relate to in life, because how many people want to listen to song about money when they have none? When there are motivational songs I think people would listen to it to boost their self esteem and make them feel better about their self image. Therefore, I think that there should be a relatable message in the song for people to understand.

3)Some songs that are inspirational to me are Broken Home and Invisible by 5SOS, and Trophies by Drake. Invisible and Broken Home are two songs that we can relate to, broken home is about parents fighting and forgetting that their kid is there but in the end you have to let everything go and look out for yourself . The meaning behind Invisible is that it’s alright if you’re still figuring out who you are and who you want to be and even though you don’t know, just be yourself.

Trophies by Drake has an insane amount of cursing in it but the message is that you can be whoever you want to be no matter what happens. In the song he talks about how he saw his parents split up right after the wedding which taught him to stay committed so behind every mistake you think there is, there are scars but also lessons that you learn from and don’t make the same mistakes that you witnessed were made.

Mean by Taylor Swift is also a very powerful song about bullying . The message is that if you’re stomped on today, you’ll rise tomorrow and when you grow up, you’ll be big enough so your bully won’t be able to abuse you and when the bully grows up, he will be nothing but mean. I haven’t been bullied before but I’ve seen kids being beat up by a group of other kids and to those people who’ve been hurt before, you should stay strong and don’t change yourself because in the future, people will see your beauty for who you really are and it’s better to be hated for who you are than liked for who you aren’t.

I choose “ Who Says- Selena Gomez”

I choose this song because this song tells me that I can be anything I want to be and that I should never back down on what I want to become, and I should not listen to what others say about me, also I should just follow my dreams.

Another reason why I choose this song is because of the way how this song is written and put together is tremendous, Because even though this song was released in 2011 people still listen and follow this song to this day.

    Also here is the Chorus:
Who says, who says you're not perfect?
Who says you're not worth it?
Who says you're the only one that's hurtin'?
Trust me, that's the price of beauty
    Who says you're not pretty?
    Who says you're not beautiful?
    Who says?

In her Chorus she keeps on reminding you that your not ugly or that you’re perfect just the way you are. Also at the end of Verse 2:

    You've got every right
    To a beautiful life
    C'mon

Which means that you shouldn’t care about what other people think about you, we all have an equal right to live.

  12. 2) No I do not think music has any social obligation to preach positive messages or try to inspire its audience. Music is not a place you should turn to for inspiration or if you’re trying to learn something. In my opinion music has only one main job: to entertain it’s audience.

Many genres of music aren’t meant to have their audience inspired, these include hip hop, country and r&b. That doesn’t however mean that music cannot have inspirational meaning. Musicians create their music through their personal thoughts, feelings and beliefs, if they choose to make their songs inspirational, that is totally fine. But writing inspirational songs can make some artists feel trapped, as they are only allowed to write a song that people can find inspirational.
Promoting a positive message in music is something that no artist should dislike doing, but they shouldn't feel obligated to make their songs positive soundings and include positive messages. Sometimes songs are meant to be negative or sad. The song represents the artist's feelings at the time of composition.

My favourite genre, hip hop, rarely has a positive message that you can relate to and learn from. It may have a deeper meaning, but most people just listen to it to pass time or relax after a long day. The purpose of hip hop, and most other genres, is to be cool and a pleasure to listen to. Hip hop is not something to turn towards if you want inspirational music.

Yes, the music industry is gigantic, and yes they have the power to influence many young teens and even adults. But always preaching a positive message can dullen music, and the mission to promote positive messages could cost the industry millions of dollars, which I think is the main reason they choose not to.

In conclusion, I think that it’s great if an artist or song chooses to preach a positive message in their song lyrics. But the idea that artists should feel obligated to include something everyone can learn from in their songs, is absurd.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwLRQn61oUY

This song is called Confident by Demi Lovato and it’s one of her latests, in this video its about 2 girls who’ve been played and working for a man that’s basically using them but they don’t know that. Demi is being beaten up by the presence of Michelle Rodriguez but Demi wasn’t giving up on her mission from the ol man that’s making both of them turn on each other, at the end they realize they’ve both been played and so on they go after their “Boss” together.
In the video you can clearly see that Demi Lovato’s confidence grew more even tho she had some troubles in the past. Which is what’s relating to the song's title name “Confident” in my opinion this video does send a message about having confidence and hope, never giving up and teamwork but when I listen to the song it makes me feel like I can do anything that I want to achieve, it gets me motivated and it makes me thrive more for what I want. In this link: http://www.mtv.com/news/2351979/demi-lovato-confident-robert-rodriguez/ there are some listed reasons on the message of the video.
In the text it said that “Once we were onboard for making the video, Michelle is the first person I called. I told her the story over the phone and as soon as I got to the part that the girls team up, she said ’THAT’S it! I’ve been saying that for two years — girls gotta stop fighting each other and team up! That’s the message! I’m in! Let’s do this. I’m coming down.”

People fight with each other everyday but this video isn’t just about letting loose and being confident, it’s about working together as a team and it can teach us all a lesson.

    2. Yes I do agree music should have a thorough message toward their audience and supporters which every song does have a meaning but some can be off topic or something that’s not even reasonable or realistic they can be irrelevant too. Most people when they are at their worst moments in life they tend to listen to “sad” music to blend in with their mood, it gives them a reason and if you listen to a song like “confident” You would actually feel better, I always do. You turn for music as an answer especially how the song is written with the lyrics how it makes you feel.
A story can be told in a music video and with the lyrics. listening to music can just change your mood, make you feel relaxed like in your own world that’s how I see it. A Lot of songs motivate you, and that’s what everyone needs either in their down days or if their in their happy place. Artists (the songwriters and singers) would inspire so many people, get more views, sell out more albums and songs, make more money and get more famous see the fans and singers both get something by getting the fans cheery, feel delighted, and buoyant. I

    3. Well there’s a couple of songs that have inspired me for example: Confident, What a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong, Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, See you again, Who says by Selena Gomez, Bad Blood by Taylor Swift also Wildest Dreams. These songs are very inspiring and it gets me hyped like I myself found MY Happy place and it gives me a reason to smile. Their just stating the facts of reality and trying to inspire and stimulate their fans, make them see other's point of views which is why I find them enjoyable to listen to but they’re not the only ones I have alot, but some irrelevant. In confident this lyric I would say was the most motivative one:

“I use to hold my freak back
    Now I’m letting go
    I make my own choice
    Yeah I run this show
    So leave the lights on
No, you can’t make me behave”

That inspired me the most, it’s like telling others that you can’t be controlled, it’s your mistakes, your choices and your life. So that is why I choose this song.

  14. 2. I think that music should have a social conscious and a positive message and to inform the audience because the people who listen to the music need to learn something after they have listened to it. They should have an idea of what the song is trying to tell us and what the hidden message is in that song. By listening to music people can get aware of many things such as drugs, bullying and more. Having music as a social conscious would be good because people need to know how the world is and how the people all around us being treated and how they are behaving with other people.

Singers should have songs that can make others go with their footsteps and learn how they can be very positive and and change the world with many different ways. Example helping the homeless, don't talked alcohol, drugs, stop fighting, bullying and other stuff that can help the world to become a better place with good people being all around us. Now days people are writing songs that can be very less inspirational but back they had music that told others about the place they are living in and how they can do something to change the place and make it better by others helping.

  15. The songs that have inspired me would be “Never Say Never”, “Roar”, “SkyScraper”. All of these songs have a positive message. The song Never Say Never it's about never giving up. In Roar its about bravery and strength. In Skyscraper it is where you can take everything but i will still have everything.

Never Say Never has taught me to never give up and be strong. This song has inspired me because the song has a purpose. It awares people that bullying is still happening. I despise bullying. I will try to stop it. Bullies need to be taught a lesson. Songs can do that. Don’t people say words can hurt more than a fist. I believe that is true, but it can be used for good. People can use their mouth to protect themselves.

In the song Roar Katty Perry is demonstrating her bravery and herself. This song inspires me because it demonstrates her true self. All she is doing is being herself. People like who you are so don’t act like another person. This song explains that. Furthermore being strong and brave a two great traits of a person.

Another song that inspire me is Skyscraper. This song inspire me because the person is not giving in the bullying. She is saying you can take everything from her but she will get it back. This song demonstrates courage and bravery. She is proving that she is better than the people who are taking everything from her.

In conclusion, these songs have inspired me. Those songs have a deep message where people can understand the singers feelings. We can know what they feel by their song. Their traits are inspiring many people’s lifes.

1.)this song describes the hardship of a virtual reality and how a game can actually mean a lot to people who play them and how people take games seriously and practice over and over again. For example the song said "you always knew that you'd be the one
That work while they all play."
which means that they take games as work and try their best.
2.) Most people consider music a precious source of entertainment and if the music has an inspirational quote it helps everyone because they listen to the song and they would apply everything that they listen to in real life and if they listen to positive music than they would apply positive thing which would make the world better.

When i played a game before, I didn't try my best because we were winning than the other team won I got so mad because we were winning. if I tried my best we wouldn't have lost.

  18. Some the songs that inspired me are: who says, skyscraper, and girl on fire. They are inspiring because they all have different meanings that can help us be better in the world.

The song who says means that we all have good personality and if someone is bothering us that we don't look good, it may be that they are jealous. It talks about believing in yourself that you are good and pretty not like what others say. It gives strength to stand up ourselves and show that you can defeat all alone rather than someone being there and helping you.

    Who says?
    Who says you're not perfect?
Who says you're not worth it?
Who says you're the only one that's hurting?
    Trust me,
    That's the price of beauty.
    Who says you're not pretty?
    Who says you're not beautiful?
    Who says?

The chorus is saying that don't care what others say about how you look and how you can't be worth anything. Trusting yourself is good because others may just be saying lies when they want to say the truth but might be jealous that you are prettier than them.

The song skyscraper inspires me because it's telling that you shouldn't fall down just cause someone dropped you, you should be strong and make yourself go higher. The song is saying that if your in the time when everything is being worse you and you fall you shouldn't break into prices but to get up and prove yourself right.

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
    Like I'm made of glass
    Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
    Like a skyscraper
    Like a skyscraper

The chorus is saying that even if you take everything I have I still can get there and reach for new and better ones. I you try shattering me I won't because I have a whole life to prove and show who I am an who I can become.

The song girl on fire is about new perspectives, new beginnings and fresh start. The songs talks about finding the inner strength making it get challenged in many different ways from hard and to easy.

    Ohhhh oh oh oh oh
She got both feet on the ground
    And she's burning it down
    Ohhhh oh oh oh oh
She got her head in the clouds
    And she's not backing down

    This girl is on fire...
    This girl is on fire...
    She's walking on fire...
    This girl is on fire...

This chorus means that she is thinking more to the clouds and looking up and not caring of what others say and not looking down. She won't go down until someone big and harsh comes but she will still fight to have a better life ahead. 'Shes walking on fire' means that se isn't afraid of anything but looking ahead of her.

  20. 2) Yes, I do think that music should have a social conscious because we all know that music is all about expressing your thoughts and feelings and yes, we´ve been hearing that for years, but there is more to music than just expressing yourself. Music is something that all of us tend to remember most and memorize easily. I mean, we´d actually all listen to a song about inspiration and motivation rather than listening to an hour long lecture about it. It´s just more appealing and interesting and obviously, it takes less time.

Music spreads really quickly around the world and when your favourite artist is singing a song you like, you are more likely going to follow their motivational advice because they will most likely always say that they are who they are today because of motivation. If a motivational song spreads, then motivation will spread. People will actually try to do something that their favourite artist did for themselves. For example, if your favourite artist decided to advertise a product, your are more likely to buy it rather than having a complete stranger advertising a product. It should work the same way with music. You will probably listen to advice from your favourite artist rather than having to listen to a stranger giving you advice.

I think that music is an easier way of spreading inspiring message and should be a social conscious.

  22. 3) One of the songs I love listening to when I’m doing school work or just relaxing is, Up All Night by Drake. I feel like this song is very inspiring, I especially feel connected to the chorus which goes like “F*** what they be talking about, their opinion doesn’t count, we the only thing that matter” what Drizzy is trying to say you shouldn’t pay attention to other people’s opinions because they are irrelevant. You are the only one who matters in regards to your decisions. Another lesson Drake is trying to teach is you should never abandon your crew, or your close friends. Drake says he would die for his team, and that he loves them a lot. In conclusion, the main lesson that can be derived from this song is that you shouldn’t take other people’s opinion to heart, because they’re irrelevant, you are the only thing that matters in your life.

Another very inspiring song is Never say never by Justin Bieber. The message Justin Bieber is trying to convey is that you should always face problems and difficulties with a positive attitude. You should never give up because you never know what you can accomplish until you try. But if you say never you could be limited in your life, to smaller things rather than bigger things you were destined for.

  23. My pick for an inspirational song would be ‘Titanium’ by David Guetta ft. Sia. I think that this song is inspirational and describes a very important moral and social message because of the lyrics and the music video as well. The lyrics go like this -

    (chorus)

    *I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
    Fire away, fire away
    Ricochet, you take your aim
    Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
    I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
    I am titanium*

The lyrics represent people , or things you’re struggling withtrying to bring you down, or fail, and the lyrics try to remind you to not, no matter how strong they are. It reminds you that you’re not weak. You have power too, it’s in your potential. The lyrics try to say, if you believe in yourself, you’ll be ready to face anything life throws at you.

Here is the bridge for the song:

    *Stone-heart, machine gun
Firing at the ones who run
    Stone heart loves bulletproof glass

You shoot me down but I won't fall
    I am titanium x4*

The meaning of this part is that Sia knows that she’ll will get tried to be brought down and fail, and she’s anticipating it. But, she knows on the inside that she can’t fall, and she’s trying to prove that she can overcome this obstacle and keep going. In this next verse she goes

    * “You shout it out,
But I can't hear a word you say
I'm talking loud, not saying much
I'm criticized but all your bullets ricochet
You shoot me down, but I get up*

This means that she can see the thing trying to get her, trying to make her fail, but she knows that she can defeat this, and even though she’s being brought back down, she’s not falling for good, she’s just getting back up to prove that no matter how many times or how deeply it hurt her, she’s going to keep fighting on.
Basically, the lyrics mean that no matter how powerful your obstacles in life are, you can beat them if you know the potential inside of you. Your inner strength. You can accomplish anything in life and no one can stop you, as long as you’re confident about what you’re going to and will keep fighting things that get in your way as you’re progressing ahead.

The music video, however, also has a great meaning to it. It’s about a boy who discovers that he has supernatural powers, which people are afraid of, so they try to bring him down and catch him, so he doesn’t display these out in the world. The boy discovers his inner strength and flees there even after the try their best to catch him.

    2) I think that it depends because, music, sometimes have an important social message, which is great; but a lot of music nowadays are meant solely for entertainment purposes, and often don’t have quite an obvious social message attached to them. We all sometimes like songs like those, but I think that music having an important moral with it is a good idea. You might as well learn something new, or relate to the lyrics and think of the song as inspirational. However, it doesn’t
have to be an obligation in effect to ALL songs, because that’s based on the listener’s preferences, whether they like songs having an important social conscious or not. Yes, most songs might have a meaning or association attached to them with the lyrics, and the themes might be different- and that varies from person to person, and whether they choose to accept the meaning of the song or not. Some people do like songs or music that have a moral because they might look at it as inspirational or meaningful, and other people don’t, because they find some other detail that they like of the song, therefore listening to it, such as the beat, rhythm, or background music.

  24. 3) There are a lot of songs sung by Sia that I like, such as ‘Elastic Heart’, or ‘Bang my head’, because they all try to prove that your struggles are trying to bring you down, but you have inner strength and you won’t let them get to you, and you’re strong enough to deal with these and end your problems in life, by fighting on and not failing. They’re mostly about persistence.

Elastic Heart (an excerpt of the lyrics)

*Well, I've got thick skin and an elastic heart,
But your blade - it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard,
Yeah, I may snap and I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
'Cause I've got an elastic heart*

Bang my Head (an excerpt of the lyrics)

*Bang my head against the wall
Though I feel light headed, now I know I will not fall
I will rise above it all
Found what I was searching for
    Though I feel light headed
I should have failed, and nailed the floor
Instead I rose above it all

    Oh, oh, oh
Bang my head against the wall
    Oh, oh, oh
Instead I rose above it all
(Bang my head against the wall)*

Also, I like the song by 5SOS “Jet Black Heart because it’s about getting back up ‘to life’ and recovering back after you’ve fallen or as in the lyrics ‘are broken’ and it gives you strength to get back up because of the motivation in the song. It instantly gives you a boost, and makes you feel like you can accomplish anything, because of how the song makes you feel and it’s volume goes from low to really loud, and it’s like a rollercoaster effect, because in the beginning, you relate to the lyrics
    *Everybody’s got their demons
    Even wide awake or dreaming
I’m the one who ends up leaving
    Make it okay*

But as the song progresses, it starts to get louder and louder as your spirits start rising the lyrics become this-

*'Cause I’ve got a jet black heart
And there’s a hurricane underneath it
    Trying to keep us apart
I write with a poison pen
But these chemicals moving between us
Are the reason to start again*

And you know that you have to get back up again because it’s time to relieve your old mistakes and start new.

  25. 3) Some songs that have inspired me other than Skyscraper by Demi Lovato are….

    Roar-Katy Perry
This song came out in 2013-2014 and it is about a girl who got pushed down a billion times and still got up again and again no matter how hard she fell down. It says that you should have the courage and fight on.
There is a specific line that I actually really like: “I went from zero, to me own hero.” She felt like nothing before, but that didn’t stop her. This line says that you shouldn’t envy someone and you should start thinking of yourself as the better person.

    2. Confident-Demi Lovato
This song is one of her recent songs which came out in 2015. This is about being dauntless and bold. You can’t make me feel small because “What’s wrong with being confident?” and no matter how hard you try, I will always be Confident.

    In these two verses
    So you say I'm complicated
That I must be outta my mind
    But you've had me underrated
    Rated, rated

What's wrong with being, what's wrong with being
    What's wrong with being confident?
What's wrong with being, what's wrong with being
    What's wrong with being confident?

It says that I’m not as delicate as you think I am and you have underestimated me because you don’t know what I am capable of doing. This is a strong message because people usually think of girls as small timid people who won’t accomplish much in life, but this song says that you thought too little of me.

    3. We are Stars-Virginia to Vegas
This song says that you have to believe that you are unstoppable and that the world is beneath you because you are able to do anything. Life will always tear you down, but you have to have that energy and get on with it. You can’t always take flight, sometimes you have to fight. You can’t think about giving up because you have to count on yourself to take on your problems

The world is an amazing place and you can’t always find success. “Success like your own shadow, if you try to catch it, you will never succeed, ignore it and walk in your own way, and it will follow you.”

  26. 2. Yes, I think that music should have a social conscious and obligation to preach positive messages because nowadays some of the songs don’t make much sense, and most of the songs have swearing in them, also in some songs they don’t really have the message clear inside of them, unlike in the previous years Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and many more artists made such great songs that leave clear messages for their audience, either if it’s about being yourself or if it’s about not caring about what other people think of you just be who you are or if it’s about being brave and standing tall and their songs didn’t have swearing in those times.

    3. Here are some songs that have inspired me.

    Who says- Selena Gomez
This song inspired me because Selena Gomez is my favourite singer, also this song inspired me because the lyrics for this song was great and I really made me understand the message, that you should be who you want to be.

    Never say never- Justin Bieber
This song inspired me because this song was based off the movie Karate Kid (2010) “a boy who moves from America to China and he gets bullied by a chinese guy and his gang because he isn’t like everyone else, but then he learns karate so that he could fight his bully in a karate tournament and overcome his fear and win.”

  28. Kelly Clarkson is an American singer and songwriter. She was born in April 24 1982 and she became famous after wining the first season of American Idol.

1). The song " What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" has a inspirational vibe in it. It shows that nobody can bring you down if you stand up for yourself. If you are getting bullied at school or your not getting treated the way you want to, the lyrics really makes you inspired to do something about and not be alone all the time. The imagery in the video show a bunch of clips of different people dancing. These people have been bullied at one point of their life. They have stood up for themselves and did something about the bully rather then be alone and say nothing at all. Yes, it's hard to overcome a bully but you'll never succeed in dealing with a bully if you don't do anything about it which this song tells you

I would say that the chorus of the song gives the most inspirational vibe and feelings because it makes you feel like you are not alone in this world.

    Chorus:
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
    Stand a little taller
    Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone
What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
    Footsteps even lighter
    Doesn't mean I'm over 'cause you're gone

There is a a lot of meaning to the chorus. It tells you that you are invincible and that you can do anything, you can do it all by yourself. It sends you such a good thought to your mind. Its saying that you are strong and that no words can hurt you in any way and that when you get hurt but your still alive that means that you can do more that what you thought you could. The song especially the chorus gives the feeling that you can do anything if you really want too.

    2) I think that music should have a social conscious and obligation to preach positive messages because these days music send out a bad influence towards the audience. Music hits these days are not inspiring or send out positive messages.
Music topics now are about guns, smoking, love, drugs, and more inappropriate things. The music that is nowadays is only meant for entertainment. People listen to music because it has a catch beat to it. If people actually took the time to look over the lyrics they would be amazed to see what the lyrics actually is for some of the songs.

We need more songs with positive messages. If we have a "music crisis" and all the music now turned to positive and happy messages then maybe the kids growing up today won't be as "spoiled" than before. What I mean is that kids now are saying and doing things that are not appropriate for there age and one reason for that is the influence of the songs they listen to. Although there are many other reasons for this, for example the people they are around, music still has a big role in the kids world today. That's why you see little kids just 8-10 years old swearing and doing inappropriate things as a kid because of the music and they want to be like there favourite songwriter.
Positive music wouldn't do this to kids. It would actually make a turn for the better and put some sense into them. Being cool doesn't mean being like your favourite songwriter. Positive music may turn people into better human beings and the music would maybe want to to good in this world, which is why we need music to be more positive.

  29. 3) To be honest I don’t listen to songs for the feeling of inspiration. The songs that I listen to don’t make me want to go out and do something. I listen to music purely for the fact of entertainment, but I do listen to songs that have a positive message.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way (Chorus)
    I'm beautiful in my way
    'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
    I was born this way
    Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby
    I was born this way

This song sends a positive message. It is saying that it does not matter the way you are and they way you look because god made you that way. I can see how people find this song inspirational because the lyrics makes people feel good about themselves no matter what others say.

    Justin Beiber- Pray (Verse 1)
    I just can't sleep tonight
    Knowing that things ain't right
It's in the papers, it's on the TV, it's everywhere that I go
Children are crying, soldiers are dying, some people don't have a home

This song was made to show that people around the world are not as fortunate as us. A lot of children around the world do not have food on their plate for dinner. While they don’t have anything we can just go into our fridge and get anything we want and if we don’t like it, we simply throw it away. This song acknowledges that point. This song sends out a strong and moving message that can really change how people are if they listen to the song.
