Good Morning #EIGHTYBEE
Making a full length movie may be impossible with me being away, but some small trailer like films using the green screen and explosion apps could make for some new and original trailers. We can use this as training to make a film for Black History month.
Similar to Terry Fox we need to know the story before trying to tell the story. Watch these 2 clips outlining Canada's role in World War 1.
Share interesting facts from the films and detail some potential scenes and story lines we could shoot to make a WWI trailer.
The soilders in the clips had the guts to go out in to open war so in our trilers we need to show that we care and that we are going to run in to war for the pride of our country. We should also put a scene that shows one of us standing on a podium saying a speech about the war.

DeleteDon't worry, let's be creative. I don't know much about the first movie but, that movie is really special since, it had made it to a newspaper. ( I think, tell me if I am wrong). It had done a lot of good outcomes. Maybe we should let that movies be and let it alone. This time, its OUR turn to make something and achieve a high level. If I were to use the part one of the movie that was made years back, I wouldn't feel too good about others using it.

DeleteYeah but Nauman remember the trailer is the begining of a movie. So if we make a 20-30 min movie then there's plenty of time for action scenes. Also if it's a war movie then we could make a lot of action scenes that make sense.

Good memory Talha cause our ipods arnet realy equipped with good graphics when using its camera so we will have to use A real camera and also becasue our ipods when they zoom in it loses its touch for good graphics so we would have to use cameras
DeleteALSO with a proper camera, we can zoom in and out, use a tripod to move up and down and at angles. We can do that with the iPod without it looking like it's bad quality.

DeleteI don't know if this place is still opened but, in fourth and fifth grade I wen to a class trip to a legion. There, it was like a ceremony for remembrance day. All the veteran had gathered up there and talked about the battle they were in. Something interesting was, they showed us almost everything they used for a war. They had helmet that they wore that were like 100 pounds! Think how hard it was for them to battle with those on their heads! Their coats were made to keep them warm, and we were able to try it on. It weight so much and I almost sunk in it! They would carry little bags and all there was in there was a notebook or a piece of paper,a water bottle, pencil, few photos, and a small container of food. That was harsh to live through! There, we also saw plaques, medals, ribbons, and young photos of them before war. They also had hung different types of guns. These are some things we can use in the movie, also it would be good to highlight to the school how heavy the helmet and coats were... I don't think too many people know that. Hard to travel with them.

DeleteYou know what, I think it's better to have a few scenes to show what happened in the first movie. That's a good idea Talha, I just hate the first one.
DeleteI agree with taking a few scenes from the first movie if we were to continue. Something you would want to avoid is summarizing with words or saying things that are long, just put it all in the trailers and movies. When I was a kid, assemblies use to bore me since it would be kids or teachers talking, when there was things to watch like movies, songs,acts or dances, that is what everyone enjoyed the most. We need something visual.
DeleteThe part i liked in the video was when they showed the soilders training.I thought that was a good scence because it shows that in order to succeed it takes hardwork, disipline, and teamwork.Being s solider and being apart of the army isn't easy and we need to display that to everyone.

DeleteThe thing that I liked the most is the professional work showing. For example in the first video: World War One (WWI). The part where the leader is leading the march and the soldiers are following hum in rows, this looks very professional because everyone is doing the same thing in the same position. Therefore I liked this part the most.

DeleteWell since theres IPhones and IPods it won't be a problem to shoot the scenes. On thing we can do is have a narrator at the back to tell the time and place unlike the other movie where they just had a different scene that says the place and time.

DeleteYes Heta, I agree. Writing sometimes disturb and creates an annoyed feeling. The kids would be too lazy to read it. When there is an action scene, that is when the kids have there mouth open, jaw dropped, and staring with big eyes. If writing pops out of no where, that will just bore the movie and get the kids distracted. Sometimes, this even makes it look fake and sound like boring history. This is history in a different way.

DeleteI don't think poem would be too entertaining. The only poem should be Flanders's field. That would probably come in the end. The quotes are a really good idea. We need to make sure they are catchy or emotional, no too hard with hard words so the kids can understand.

ReplyDeleteSoldiers have to do alot of hard work just to be a soldier,they have to trian, lift up heavy things, practice for fighting, practice shooting or throwing a weapon, and much,much more. Soldiers a people that fight for our lives and whenever a soldier dies, they died for saving thier country so that we that we can have a better life, and even if soldiers died, they died happy because they know that our country is safe.
So what are some scenes we could shoot to show how much they fight for us?
DeleteWhen in watched both clips my favorite scean was when a guy on a train that was in the milertary holding his baby dauther in his hands it was very touching to see. But i dont think we can get a real baby for the movie/thrailler and a fake baby look way to fake.

DeleteAnyone's siblings we can borrow from school? A toy baby would be alright...it's cold at that time anyways. Also there was tragedies were the mother were trying to protect the baby so they put blankets over their face, but in the end they ended up dying since they couldn't breath...

ReplyDeleteI think that the first video is great for the history of world war 1. It tells alot of things and a overlook on what this event was. The second video is somethign that shows the effects and the result of all this. It shows feelings, moods, and the inside of the character.

We were planning trailers on Friday, so me and Lauren were thinking that maybe we can show a small scene of the beggining where the war is a bout to start. So the men are either being dragged or by choice joining the war. This is an intense moment where the wife, mother, sister, and daughter have fights and emotions shows up. Just looking at scenes like this would show how hard it was at that time. There was also a picture in the video where it showed a solder holding a baby and giving it back to its mother (probably; inference) as if he is leaving his baby because, his leaving for war (emotional).
DeleteI also heard a story that we may be able to make into a scene... this was from my 7th grade teacher who had uncles go into war. They were two brothers and very close ones. So they had landed on shore from the ships and running towards a shelter type area. There was a hill on top where the enemy was shooting. This made it difficult since the enemy had an easy target shooting from the top and they were running under the bullets. One of the brothers were running and telling his brother to follow...it was an intense moment. He was running with all his might assuring his brother that they will make it. When he didn't get a reply, he looked back and saw his brother dying. He was shot and bleeding. So he ran back to get him but, the dying brother had told him " Go and save yourself." He had no choice and left crying. His brother died and that was the last time he saw him. It's a really sad,maybe we can show two men running and one looking back finding out that the other person is dying.
